My research program on the mechanisms responsible for event representation and memory for events involves extensive research with undergraduate students on the effects of aging, emotion, and mindfulness on how we perceive and remember events. One major goal is to understand how people form false memories, which has important implications for everyday life and for eyewitness testimony.

I teach psychology courses on human development, aging, cognition, and research methods. Each day I try to make class challenging and interesting. I want students to take an active role in learning and to leave the class wanting to learn more and knowing how to go about learning more.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons. We have taken RV trips to hike in our amazing national parks, and our plan is to visit them all. My hobbies include taking my rat terrier, Milton, to the dog beach, hiking, canoeing, traveling, and reading.
